In 1999, it was reactivated and re-registered according to the provisions of the new law on citizens' associations of the Republic of Macedonia. The Macedonian Student Ethnological Society, with its goals, program and statute, advocates for raising the level of education of students and their inclusion in scientific and research work and professional and applicable popularization of the ethnological and anthropological cultural values of Macedonia. For this purpose, a certain number of projects have been prepared and developed through which the program is realized and the desired goals are achieved. So far, several projects have been implemented, which contribute to the development of interpersonal and ethnic relations of the communities living in Macedonia, as well as other activities that contribute to the detailed study of Macedonian culture and tradition and their presentation in domestic and foreign media.

MSED realizes cooperation with similar student organizations at other Universities and establishes cooperation with similar societies that result in student exchange and the inclusion of ethnologist and anthropologist students from MSED in projects of other organizations and Faculties abroad.
