Author guidelines

Basic parameters for the writing of the texts:

The text should be written:

  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12
  • Line spacing: Single
  • Margins: For paper with size Letter (8,5 x 11 inches) or size A-4 (8.27 x 11.69 inches);
  • Type: HTML is preferred (especially for tables). We also accept Microsoft Word or Word Perfect. For articles with illustrations (maps, drawings, photographs): .gif (GIF), .jpeg/.jpg (JPEG), .tif (TIFF). Please send the illustrations as separate files
  • page numbering: in the central bottom part
  • text size: scientific and professional works (up to 5000 words); Student articles (up to 1500 words); chronicles, reviews, critiques, etc., (up to 1000 words)
  • size of an abstract: 100-150 words, single line spacing, Font Style Italic.

Headings:

  • Main heading: (Size 12) with capital letters, bold, centered text.
  • Second-level headings: Aligned to the left with a capital starting letter on all of the important words, Font Style Italic.
  • Third-level headings: should be written as an integral part of the paragraph, with capital starting letters on all of the important words in Font Style Italic.

Text structure:

  1. First name and Last name of the author, Institution and Address
  2. Main heading of the text
  3. Abstract: 100-150 words, with a single line spacing, italic form
  4. Key words: up to ten words
  5. Text (manuscript)
  6. Cited references
  7. Tables
  8. Illustrations

Citing model:

The citation must be put right on the spot where it should stand in the text. (Baker 1983:23) If there are two or more bibliographic units from one author, they should be separated with a coma according to chronological order. (Baker 1983:23, 1990:234) If there are two or more bibliographic units from the same author written in the same year, use a, b, c to separate one from the other. (Baker 1983a:23, 1983b:125, 1983c:222) If you need to cite more authors on the same spot, align them according to the alphabet and separate them with: ; (semicolon). (Able 1984:23; Baker 1983:234, 1985:222; Cardiner 1940:24)

In the English version of the text, all Cyrillic and Latin titles (Macedonian, Serbian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Slovenian, Russian, Polish, Czech) should be transcribed according to the English alphabet. Example: Antonijevich, Rybakov.

Cited references:

All of the cited references should be included in a list at the end of the text. The list should be in an alphabetical order of the Last Names of the authors, while only the starting letters of the First and Middle Names should be used. Two or more books by the same author should be listed according to the chronological order of their printing. Two or more books by the same author printed in the same year should be separated by putting a letter a, b, c, etc., after the year of printing.
